Another day and another card challenge, or 4. This ‘Geometric Hello’ was created with the Virginia’s View challenge #18 Geometric Patterns in mind, but then as I was checking other challenge sites I decided to enter Pinterest Inspired, Clear it Out and Addicted to Stamps and More as challenges as well.
I started with a stencil in a chevron pattern I think I got a Joann’s eons ago, it actually has two patterns the other is sort of a Moroccan pattern (see below). I mixed several colors of Distress Ink with Ranger Texture Paste and used a palette knife to apply to a panel of white cardstock. Once dried I use the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles to cut the panel down. I cut the greeting from DIY gold metal paper, I made from embossing with gold embossing powder several times on white cardstock to get the smooth metal look. Then cut it out with Memory Box Oh Hello die set. Then finished it off with foam tape on a standard size card base.
I had extra Texture Paste so I made a second card with the other pattern from the stencil and the negative from the Hello sentiment used in the first card.
I think both cards come out pretty nice. I love re-discovering craft supplies and tools like that versatile stencil. As always I’d love to see what you’ve been creating for those of you who are playing along. Post your links in the comments below.
